This little fellow's quite something, not only can he fly, he can also spin his head right round. You never know when that trick will come in handy.
Believed to date back to the late 1940's, this handcrafted baby pilot mobile, made from wood and stainless steel, really is a very special vintage piece.
Designed as a mobile (metal hook), presumably for a child's room, it would look equally striking on display anywhere in your home.
The paint is worn in places, and could do with a good clean, but overall, this find is in good condition for its age. It's a shame that someone had a bit of a heavy hand painting round the baby's chin though, otherwise it would have been perfect! (wouldn't be noticeable on profile or if hung up in the air)
Wood plane, stainless steel wings and propellers (one is looser than other).
The plane measures 41.5 cm L, 32 cm W, 10.5 cm H.
